Re: Finished Express but have buzz
Yes I did, I'm not very good at describing sound but the old caps seemed more warm and the breakup more even, I have the amp just as I like it so I am going to leave it alone now.

Re: Finished Express but have buzz
Finished the cab, couldn't get any good wood locally so I used some left over floor boards from our recent wood floor project and stuck em together. The wood is Tasmaninan Oak (which is no relation to the oak at all apart from being a tree) three types of eucalypt. http://kirkby.com.au/g2/main.php?g...

Re: Another Wreck (almost) alive.
Mine is on the third stage with the 82K to the plate and 22K to B+, it allows me about 1/4 turn of the volume before my nose starts bleeding.

Re: Another Wreck (almost) alive.
+1 on the 82K/22K split load, it works well and seems transparent.

Re: Empty Blank Aluminum box anybody?
Sorry for the outburst chaps, tired and emotional, the "it's my ball and you're not playing" stupidity coupled with the sniping got to me. Dana, you are quite correct, it is nothing like the 18Watt war.

Re: Original ginger Schematic ?
The possibility also the original Schematic GINGER buying it will not be the bedspread? Most amp builders with original designs are not interested in selling their schematics. We end up peicing the schematics together from pictures or if we are very lucky, someone on the forum will actually get to ...
