Another D'Lite 22/33 build
Hi, I have just completed the build of my D'Lite 22/33 kit (with export mains transformer); I have installed the 6V6/6L6 switch and a sturdier output imepdance selector (I had to enlarge the chassis hole a bit): [img:800:600]http://i42.servimg.com/u/f42/09/02/28/99/dscn2830.jpg[/img] [img:800:600]ht...

Re: Ampwares? good for parts?
That's a bit of luck, guitarsnguns04, but my order is now more than two month old, and their email adresses are no longer valid it seems, so I am very afraid I will never get anything

WARNING - ampwares email adress is not valid
Another very bad experience for Ampwares : in January I have placed an order with them to make myself a brown Vibroverb clone ; at the time they were the only one to offer some of the parts (for instance those 350K-70K tap pots) ; since the confirmation order, I got nothing, and no anwers to my emai...

Re: NewB Express built
Oh, and as for your bias warmer question. In My Humble Opinion, use your ears to guide you, use the Meter to keep you in check. Does that make sense? I dialed my TW in by ear because I loaned out my Meter to a friend, and I couldn't find my Weber Bias Rite. Turns out, I was perfectly within range o...

Re: NewB Express built
I received the knobs from Mouser and here they are : [img:800:600]http://i27.servimg.com/u/f27/09/02/28/99/dscn2515.jpg[/img] [img:800:600]http://i27.servimg.com/u/f27/09/02/28/99/dscn2516.jpg[/img] The problem with my engraving is now over, and even if I loved the large knobs, these one fit the amp...

Re: NewB Express built
I like the looks of that brown leather handle, I think it fits the cab wood, but also think a Marshall style handle will not. I thougt about having no handle, but I find it a bit easier to carry the amp with the handle, IMHO. I played a bit with the express this afternoon, and there is a smell comin...

Re: NewB Express built
John, yes indeed the amp is not well balanced with the big irons on one side, but if you don't have to carry it over a long distance, it's OK. Of course, you can consider having two handles on the side, like an AC-30, but I thought it will be too much for that superb maple.

Re: NewB Express built
I have biased the EL34s a bit cold (with around 375V on the plates, 13w power dissipation, see pic above with the Compu-Bias probe). Do you think the sound will benefit with higher bias settings ?

Re: NewB Express built
I've got a new, laser etched faceplate for you if you want one. Check the Classifieds for my ad. I have 2 maple plates ready, and I can make more. I might even have one soon that will match your head cab better. I have seen your plates, the etching is a lot better work than what I have done. Yes, p...

Re: NewB Express built
Thanks guys ! I know my lead dress is not as neat as some amps seen here on the forum, but I'm still learning. I will build soon a D'lite 22W kit (already ordered, waiting for delivery) and I am currently building a brown Vibroverb from parts (bare fiberboard, chassis and cab from ebay), with a twea...

Re: NewB Express built
I think I got them from TubesAndMore (Antique Electronics Supply) but I can't remember exactly ; about those knobs, I made a msitake while engraving the face plate ; I chose the same spacing as the Ceriatone faceplate from the center of the pot shaft, but I forgot the knobs from Ceriatone are smalle...
