I haven't done that yet, mainly because they are into marketing their own tubes which I'm not to crazy about. But , that's a good idea that I hadn't thought of!

Sorry to beat a dead horse fellas. But does anyone know if the following power tubes fall w/in Mesa/Boogies acceptable bias range? TAD 6L6GC's
PC:38, TC:624, JJ EL34L's yellow sticker just says 44/6.3 Thanks again in advance!

Even though there seems to be some consensus on this subject,there's enough different opinions to make it even more confusing! The one thing I'm going to do is go to a qualified tech! Thanks everyone for their input.

Sorry guys, not trying to stir things up. I'm just trying to find out how to order the correct rated power tubes (both EL-34,& 6L6GC ) for my Mesa/Boogie Nomad 55, other than Mesa's or Groove Tubes. Thanks again in advance

Hi, What is the plate voltage on my Nomad 55 in both 6L6GC & EL34 modes? I ask this because I'm trying some new tubes other than Mesa/Boogie STR440 ( don't like) or Groove Tubes 4-7 rating ( too expensive!) So I'm trying TAD 6L6GC, and a set of JJ EL34L's. I want to make sure they are in the accepta...

Ended up taking my amp to a local tech so hecould bias it proprely and install the newer Tweaked Mods ( J Zucker) Should have it back in a couple of weeks!

Thanks Structo(aka Tom) I ended up rebiasing the tubes to 30ma, and swapping out the first preamp tube JJ ECC-83 w/ a VHT 12AX7 (probably chinese) Sounds a lot better now! Again, thanks to everyone for their help.

Thanks everyone for the info. I ended up replacing the power tubes w/ a spare set of new 6L6GC Mesa/Boogies I had, and biased them around 23mv . I also ended up running the pre at around 6-7 range and the master at around 4-6 range. I`ev noticed that the master comes on really quickly at around 2-3 ...

Hi, I just bought a used Ceriatone Overton Special(50watt) from a freind. But the clean channel seems to breaking up, even when I turn down the pre, and especially when I run the master at full volume. I checked all of the preamp tubes, and I am running fairly low output humbuckers and mini-hums int...

Thanks for the reply. Other than buying tubes from Mesa directly,how do you select power tubes. Being that the amp has a fixed bias. Thanks again
