Re: need beginner amp idea
Fender Blues Junior, Black Heart, then get him into mods. I've been building high end (relatively) tube amps for a few years now, but a few weeks ago I had a solid state crate in to repair for a friend and I had so much fun playing cheesy metal riffs! I want one for when I need to blow off some stea...

Re: Bias Pot gluing??
If I understand you correctly, you will have a 1/4" stereo jack in the ground switch hole to to plug your bias test cable into, and you need an externally accessible pot to be able to adjust the bias, without drilling a hole for the bias pot? You could remove the standby switch, and replace the powe...

Check out the second kit down. It has a description of what I think you're talking about: https://taweber.powweb.com/store/kits_weber.htm

Re: Deluxe Reverb Normal Channel Low Output?
If I understand correctly which one would be the third stage then it's 25uF. I'm still learning this stuff so I'm not positive. I just know enough to be dangerous.

Deluxe Reverb Normal Channel Low Output?
Hey guys! I just finished a Deluxe Reverb build with a bias tremolo from the 6g16 vibroverb. Everything sounds pretty good except the normal channel seems a little quite to my ears and isn't breaking up much. It sounds about like the Vibrato channel on 6 when it's dimed. I've quadruple checked my wi...

Re: Need to rewire a Fender super reverb pedal
I'm not 100% certain, but I believe the reverb is shielded and the shield is soldered to the outside of the plug so it will be grounded when plugged in.

Re: Surf amp?
CaseyJones is right about everyone needing a DR, it's a great sound. I forgot about being able to run 6L6 tubes. I used Mojo iron and they said it would be fine with 6L6's. Different sound than the 6V6's, but some more clean headroom. I'm curious if I could run KT's though?

Re: Surf amp?
Check out the Fender Amp Field Guide: http://www.ampwares.com/ffg/ I just built a DR with a Ruby reverb tank and an added dwell control, and man it gets some serious reverb and surf tone. One thing to consider though is you probably want a decent amount of clean headroom, so you might consider somet...

Re: Have You Ever Been Shocked Working On An Amp
Did it today. Working on the bias vary trem in my DR build and I hit something with my pinky. Burnt the tip of my pinky bad and the ring finger next to it. Also burned the index finger of my other hand where it must have been grounded. Amp chassis went crashing to the floor, and I went rolling backw...

I measure a half dozen time, then cut to length. Typically, I cut them a little on the long side just to to be safe.

Re: Black Face Deluxe Reverb Problem-Voltages
I also noticed the hum goes away if I remove V4 or V6(PI). I switched out those tubes and that doesn't help.
