Re: Fender 600 champion reissue complete rebuild
Those two resistors are in the heater / filament circuit burned because your 6V6 is now shorted and bad. Also when that took place the amps fuse should have blown but it did not because it’s a crazy large 4 amp fast blow fuse. All original Champs and Bronco’s use a 1 amp slow blow fuse which is wha...

Re: Fender 600 champion reissue complete rebuild
Thanks Stevem
That seem Ok, I got some bigger resistors and have a pile of tubes.
Switch the fuse sounds good too.
If that's the damage, then back to play.
And Yoda it seemed like 1967.
Thanks

Re: Fender 600 champion reissue complete rebuild
Hey Mikante, I built a 1 transistor fuzz. My level of expertise. I ran it into a 600 Champ. Was reminiscing about Hendrix as I played. But was interrupted by a bad smell. Smoked the Champ. R 15 and 16 burnt, I replaced with what I had watts? and they cooked immediately. 6V6 is cooked too. I'd love a...

Re: Gibson GA20 VRT.
Thinking to rewire all 3 sockets.
But with a closet full of tubes, I feel I will find a 6eu7 eventually.
And trying to get this amp straightened out with a few problems and no rev tank.
Now , traded a reel to reel for more tubes!
Thanks.

Re: Gibson GA20 VRT.
I ordered a socket to convert for now and put the 6EU7 in later if I find one. Socket 1/2 the price of a tube.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Gibson GA20 VRT.
I was wondering if I should just try and convert one socket to a 12au7? And skip the 6EU7.

Re: Gibson GA20 VRT.
So far great.
I replaced bigger caps and it came to life. and the 3 in your schem,38, 6 and 15.
I have ripple at new diodes of 7VAC.
But pulling tubes drops it.
Trying to replace a 6eu7 I don't seem to have.
Anyway, thanks for the pictures.

Gibson GA20 VRT.
Ok. Thanks for letting peek into the garage. I don't know much. I buy old amps, that I love. I play them for a week or 2 and they "smoke". I try to fix. Then they go on the shelf. I have a garage full of old tube gear form scopes to radios. So, I purchased a AD3 and want to learn enough not to be so...
