Paid $1,600 for my B n' T with silver wire, upgraded caps, silverplated copper chasis in a mahogany cabinet with a figured maple face. Very beautiful.
Alessandros are steals in the used market. Come up on TGP once in a while.

Read Review
Haven't tried my HD Bloodhound with the 2X12 Avatar with Golds that is too bright with my Allyn/Larry "Express". Betting that the Golds at 50 watts each make that puppy sparkle as it roars. Wanted to try the Bloodhound with Blues but have an early 1960s smooth tolex covered Vox 2X12 cab w/original v...

George and Ken buds in early 1990s
Own a "Trainwreck" logoed Airbrake made by George under "lisence" from Ken. Had been on Ken's list for years for any amp he would deliver, Express, Liverpool or Rocket...never happened. Ken was complimentary about George's work, said George's Bloodhound with 2 EL 34s, three 12AX7s, SS rectified hand...

Re: KF Memorial Amp Clips
Great idea to get tubes from KF's stash. But, from my chats with Ken, he was all about selecting and matching the best compliment of tubes out of his stash that made a particular amp sing. Like any manufacturer, he had to consider production costs and NOS English and Dutch Tubes were 5 to 10 times m...

Hey Larry
Experienced a lot of wood envy at FL Tonefest.
One of the guys commented that the WAF was at the max with your cabinet work! Love the bird's eye control panel and the luster of the finish. It's very, very deep.
Thanks for getting the unit to me and in such great shape. Having a ball with it.

Re: KF Memorial Amp Clips
So what tubes were they?
Spoke to Glenn at FL Tonefest and he used current production tubes, as I recall. Said he had to as a working musician in face of NOS price inflation.

Glenn, what tubes?
I believe that the Express circuit is very tube sensitive. Had chats with KF about the subject as I checked in to see where I was on waiting list and when I got K60 #8. He shared that NOS Mullards and a specially selected Tele or Bugle Boy in V1 were the way to voice his amps. You may recall that th...

Having a blast with this beauty!!!
Thanks to Allyn & Larry I finally have a Wrecklica! Beautiful inside and out. Wished I played guitar as good as these guys do their things. Was on KF's list for years for an Express, Rocket and Liverpool, whichever came off the bench first. Offered deposits on the @$1,200 each which KF said he would...
