The obvious aswer is vintage C12Ns.
For really clean (and heavy) either JBL D120s or EVM12Ls.

Re: Brownface replacement caps

The earliest ones were still using up the Astrons.
Then they went to the blue ones that everyone loves.
There were, of course, some that were mixed.

This is the first time Ihave ever heard anything positive said about that bias setup.
Usually I hear "it's plain goofy, get it outta there".

Re: Anyone running a 15" speaker with a Dumble style amp?

Hey David,
Somewhere there is a bassist lusting after those D140s.
That isn't me.
I have a pair of EVM15Ls and a 15B.

Re: JBL Sells Out!

Well, we can all bitch about the unions, corporate greed, big govenment, etc. They all deserve a share. Ultamately, the blame falls on everyone who wanted to save a few bux, instead of insisting on the real deal. It's not just JBL or Crown it's happening to everyone. For me, I will keep on rebuildin...

Re: Looking for GK RB400 Schematic/ Layout

Contact G-K.
They are pretty friendly and should be willing to send you a schematic.
G-Ks have a general reputation for being almost bulletproof.
Be sure the connectors from the per board to the main board are tight.
They can loosen up and become intermittent.

Someone may have tried a cleaner with no lubricant in it.

Winterland

OK, so who knows what about these?
If I had to guess, I'd say they must be a lot like a Sunn 2000S.
Yes? No? Close?
I did turn up some pics on the internet that show #003.
They reveil Dynaco trannys and four KT 88s.

Re: Bassman 6g6-b low output in one channel

Both channels should have about the same output.
The bass channel is intended to be very clean.
