Anyone planning on getting a Ceriatone kit?(combo shipping)
Let me know if you want to buy a kit, and if you're in the US, I want to get the head cabinet, but the shipping cost for the cabinet only is prohibitive, as Nik himself said. On the other hand, if you're planning on getting an express or liverpool from him ( or even something different or bigger), h...

Re: AC30 choke on an Express
I just did it, and it sounded, hummm... GREAT! I guess I'm not a over the top out-of control high gain guy, and even though it was all there, the choke smoothed out the gain very nicely, preserving the dynamics. It's a subtle difference, it feels a more balanced. I also changed the PI tail resistor ...

Re: AC30 choke on an Express
I think the AC30 choke is around 7 or 8 H , does it make a lot of difference?

AC30 choke on an Express
I have a choke laying around here for my AC30 clone and I was wondering if I could try it on the express. It's a Mercury Magnetics choke. The Express sounds awesome but I want to try a choke on it just out of curiosity.
Are there any specs I should be worried about matching?
thanks

6k5 / 5k2 switch, is that doable?
I was wondering if I could use a simple 6A switch go go back and forth on the OT primaries. Is there something wrong/bad about it?
thanks

Re: Vox-like builds
I'm really impressed, it looks beautiful, good job! Do you mind telling us where you got the parts and the schematic you're working from? That would be great! Thanks

Re: Vox-like builds
this link is awesome. What there's no one documenting the process of building a vox amp? Legal issues? I'm thinking about doing that my self. What do you guys think?

Re: Vox-like builds
I think I was looking for something that's almost like a vox clone, as opposed to based.

Vox-like builds
Have any of you guys tried building a vox based amp? Is there a forum like this one but for vox builders? I haven;t found anything even close to it. I'm planning on building a Hoffman type of vox ( no tremolo) and I was looking for some support

Re: Anyone try a choke in an Express?
That's really interesting. Can you tell us a bit more about the outcome? do you think it's less distorted at higher volume settings? One of the features by which the Express is well know is the dynamics, so with a choke, when you roll back the volume the guitar clears out quite well and becomes brig...

Re: Weber Trainwreck kit
Sorry I didn't make it clear, I'll build a TW, I really don't like the voltages in the Java kit, they're way to high. What I'm planning on doing is to use a Java board on a 6m18tmb chassis because this is the only way to do it, since the chassis is a lot smaller than the chassis of a TW head. I'll p...
