Re: rocket clips
Very nice John! What brand/model tubes are in it? chinese GT 12ax7 in v1, GT 7025's in v2,3...JJ el84's and gz34. i've gone through a bunch of tubes since i've owned the amp. the jj's that shipped were damaged in transit. the replacement jj's were great. the best tubes i had in it were a quad of GT...

rocket clips
ok. here they are. the first clips i've ever recorded, so you'll forgive me if they aren't spectacular. i wasn't concentrating on playing, i was trying to showcase some of the dynamic qualities of the amp with it set one way, utilizing the guitar's pickups, volume and tone knobs. in both clips, the ...

Re: new homebrew cab for my rocket
so muchxs was VERY right! initial tone report from my pal: the internal baffle will have to be tweaked for the next cabinet build. it won't work for the application i had in mind. good news is, the speakers have amazing separation when used with two amps, without the baffle. i'll have to test it wit...

Re: new homebrew cab for my rocket
Hmmm... a backdoor invite to The Gear Page. A few comments: That removable internal baffle is an invitation for the cabinet to buzz or rattle. Internal parts like that should be either mounted securely or damped with a bead of silicone. If it's siliconed in place it's no longer removable. Sanford S...

Re: Another Ceriatone Damaged
I received my Rocket from Paul Ruby, California to Detroit, with both trannies bent up, etc... And it was super-well packed. I loosened the tranny mounts, bent them back into place, and re-tightened. No problems, zero issues upon powering up or since. So it's not the end of the world. I don't think ...

Re: Rocket Group Build project
Try cranking the volume, running the treble all the way down, bass barely up until it fills out the tone a bit, cut to taste. This produces the most midrange, and sounds really nice for overdriven tones.UR12 wrote:The Tone controls take a little getting use to (must be the Vox top boost thing)...

Re: Coming soon: Rocket!
I can't say enough good things about this amp. It really inspires me to play every day. Currently, I play in a punk band, although my styles and tastes run the gamut; blues, jazz, country and rockabilly, and of course rock and roll. Whenever we play a gig, guitarists geek out over the amp. We opened...

Re: PPIMV on a Rocket
I have a 15/30 watt switch on my Rocket, and it's not much of a volume drop. Actually, I don't really like it, because driving the speakers harder with more output seems to give a more 'full' sound; more bass and grunt. My suggestion would be an attenuator. Hairyandy has compared a Hotplate to his n...
