Re: Solid or Stranded? Teflon - PVC - Cloth
I bought some teflon covered stranded wire, and found the jacket to be really difficult to strip. Had to use an exacto to circumcise each piece! Is the Kimber stuff different? Can you use a wire stripper on it? The Kimber Varistrand is 19.5 ga which is a little odd, but is very easy to strip using ...

Well said, Brother.
Oh, yes. Your escatology (or eschatology - either spelling is correct) is just fine... if O survives a head wound... you could be on to something.

Point well taken. That is why I shun politicians and talk to real people. I abhor plastic things.
I used to be cynical. Now I'm really, REALLY cynical.

Re: To those who voted.
It is interesting how I have gone from a card carrying member of the SDS in the 60's to a full blown conservative in my old age. Churchill was right (and correct, too). :) About the hate Bush comment: I can honestly say that I have never heard any of my conservative friends say that they hate Obama....

[quote="kec"]BTW, the Edwards are probably the best bang-for-buck buy out there IMO - they play real nice! I have an Edwards LT (nitro finish) with a RG Genuine Texas in the bridge and a Fat Tone Vintage in the neck. It is an absolute killer. It is the best playing guitar in my stable of 24-3/4" sca...

Re: Solid or Stranded? Teflon - PVC - Cloth
I have no idea about the skin effect, but there is less dialectric absorption (DA) with the teflon. Maybe Ken preferred the PVC BECAUSE it had more DA, who knows. I have used Kimber wire for years and like the way it works: easy to strip, twists well, doesn't shrink or melt, etc. I bought a bunch of...

+1 on the Kimber.
Don't use the brown/black or grey/black wire, only the blue/black (TC). Blue/black is teflon, the others are PVC and polypropylene respectively and aren't good over 300V.

Re: Trainwreck logos
I'm building a small amp(P/P 12AT7 or ECC99) with a Wreck front end and figured I'd make a Little Toot (I think I can, I think I can...) or Toy Train logo for the front panel. These are a little obtuse in the reasoning department, but old guys like me would get the connection.

Re: Wood Question for Distortion, Skip, and you other woodfreaks
Those duck bites will leave nasty scars. If it is domestic beech it 'may' check and warp in a few months. If it is steamed europen (SE) beech, it is a joy to work with, stains beautifully and is hard enough (actually harder than soft maple @ 1300 janka) to take some abuse on the road. SE beech is an...
