Re: Dumble sounds at home-friendly volume

I’m guessing that since the Beekeeper is a separate unit, it doesn’t allow me that whole negative feedback NFB function but I don’t really know how that works anyway… The Beekeeper is the D preamp, and that section is outside of the global feedback loop in the D topology. Same as it is in your setu...

Dumble sounds at home-friendly volume

I have had a few nice amplifiers, including a Ceriatone OTS50 / OTS20 and a RedPlate Blackverb (the last was the nicest amplifier I ever had) but all of them were too loud in my little spare bedroom - even the 20 W job. 1W Dumble Practicalities

I thought I'd build an amp with: Power Amp Section from Rob Robinette's Blackvibe MICRO 12AU7 - 1 watt - Cathode biased - 12AU7 power tube (in push-pull) - 12AT7 phase inverter - Presence control - Master volume (after phase inverter?) and marry that with a Dumble 124 preamp section. The front panel...

Re: Lowering power output

I was wondering about grafting a Dumble preamp with a Rob Robinette Blackvibe Micro which to my understanding, involves one 12AU7 output Tube in push-pull for 1W. The only problem is to fit 8 potentiometers, 3 toggle switches and input socket on the front panel, the amplifier will need to be full si...
