Re: Edcor Transformers for Trainwreck Express
I ended up liking the red pacific iron. They advertised them as 7.5k but they were 6.6k. They have since updated thier web page. There are 2 sets of secondaries 285 and 300v , I think. Supposedly they're identical to he American made version. I have no complaints.

Re: 5E3 - First build, first dud
Hope some of this helps: I use a weller soldering station at around 740 degrees. I use a chisel or screw driver shaped tip. I use a good solder. Kester or MG chemical 63/37 . I put a tiny bit of flux on each connection before soldering. It can also be helpful to pre tin the turrets etc. before assem...

Trainwreck repair video. Authentic or clone ?
I've seen this video and wondered if it was an original?? If it's an original, it's been messed with, the bias circuitisnt wired in lol. If it's a clone does anyone know the builder? I'm sure it's quite unlikely to be real but it seems someone took some pains squiring some of the same parts Ken seem...

Re: pacific output trans
So I contacted Pacific about the OT.. They were advertised as 7.5k Red Series as well as USA Series. They are relling me that the spec sheets had typos and they were 6.6k all along. someone inquired recently and they corrected the spec sheet to say 6.6k Eventually I'll get the chance to test mine a...

Re: new pacific transformer budget series called "red"
I missed what you were saying but saw that in another thread. I talked to a guy at Pacific who said the 7.5k was a typo . He sent me this Pic and another guy who has some has tested and verified it.johnnyreece wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 12:50 pm Interesting note: The 30W TW spec sheet now says 6k6 for the OT.

Here's one I built this weekend. A mojo'clone?
The long base is 30x12 inches.
The sides with the rounded tops are 10x12
4x10 bas peices with 3/4x3/4 blocks.
The L shaped peices are 10 inches with an 8 legnth where the chassis lays.

I talked to Justin Richardson at Pacific when I inquired. He is saying they've been 6.6k all along and it was a typo in the spec sheet that read 7.5k
Glad to see someone has verified this.
I bought my red set late last year..

Re: pacific output trans
The red series is definitely an oversees product according to them. Thry say it's identical to the Californian ones... I should get around to testing mine. I do like the sound , a lot. But having no other experience with wrecks I'm left wondering if the proper 6.6k would be better lol. And the skept...

Re: pacific output trans
After buying the 7.5 OT I contacted Pacific in hopes they'd provide one with the correct impedence. Let's see how much they care.. I sent off an email and didn't get a response so I sent another this morning: Hello there. I think I previously sent an email to you regarding my purchase. But I think I...
