Re: so how did I do?
It saddens me that Brandon always seems to get the gun to his head here. I wouldn't have my amp without him.

G12-65/Gold combination
I know, I know, another speaker thread. I'm deciding between a G12-65 in an open backed 1x12 cabinet, OR a G12-65/Gold combo in an open-backed 2x12. I'm looking for a warm, sweet sound. The 12-65/Gold combo would double as a cabinet for my Vox head, which is why it's attractive to me. I'm currently ...

Re: Larry Carlton's Dumble-made cab. Anyone know about it?
I'm very interested in how these cabs compare to the 2x12 open back cabs with 1265's? What are the similarities and differences?

Re: Larry Carlton's Dumble-made cab. Anyone know about it?
Guys, just out of curiosity, what would I hear out of a 1x12 like Larry's vs. a 2x12 1265 cab? I need another cab because my 2x12 is set up for my Vox and haven't decided on format yet.

I love these clips. Hearing the work is much better than seeing the guts. I can't view it at work, but I will when I get home.

Definitely. I'm in California, and Tom is in Oregon. I bought mine through lavacable.com, and I'm sure he did, too.

I know! Not to get too far off, but now I wonder how our Sommers stack up against the Evidence Audio stuff! I'm not going to find out!

Re: Low pf shielded cable
I use Sommer Spirit's, too. The eye opener for me was when I plugged a Monster Cable straight into my recording interface, then a Planet Waves, then the Spirit. The Monster came off sounding like a cheap bass through a cheap amp.

Re: Low pf shielded cable
For what it's worth, I ordered some shielded wire from Antique Electronics (http://tubesandmore.com) a few weeks ago and used it last week. My soldering is considerably better than what it was when I started two years ago, but I still melt things. I couldn't melt the center conductor to save my life...

Thanks, Henry. It's finally almost done. I just need to wire the PT and filaments!
