Re: HAD is alive and well and policing ebay....
Personally I was just happy to learn 2 new words.... "Cupidity" (apparently I'm a greedy bastard) and "Casuistry" (my clever but misguided reasoning) :D Thanks for looking these up for me ;) I thought the cupidity meant you were trying to hook up an amp and buyer (like cupid duh). Apparently HAD ha...

Re: '68 Super Reverb....Recap?
If you have access to a scope, you can look at the B+ to make sure the caps are actually filtering.

I have a Gibson Skylark tremolo with two 6AQ5's in it. Can get a nice glassy sound with it.

Looks great! Glad to see people still finding the drawers a useful base to work off of.

Best method for Express - PPIMV or VVR?
Which way is best to be able to keep the volume down?
I think the master volume type 2 thing is pretty simple to do, but read that it does not sound so good in an Express.
I'm only able to get above the drum volume on stage, (which is admittedly pretty loud with our drummer!)

My drawer cab
When I came up with this idea I was in the mode where everything you look at you consider how it can be used in an amp. It certainly wasn't meant to offend the real cabinet makers. Here are a few pictures of my drawer. I realized after I put it together that it would have been better to have the joi...

Re: Opinion: The most versatile tube combo amp?
I can't understand why Fender is winning this poll (and I love old Fenders). Tweeds are two identical channels (sometimes one is "Bright"); Blackfaces are one channel nobody uses and one channel everybody uses. Then there's CBS. I've modded a lot of those Silverfaces so the "Normal" channel actuall...

Anyone blow up Fulltone Fulldrive 2??
Just got a Fulltone Fulldrive 2 and I already blew it up   Didn't realize that the power supply cable I used was the opposite polarity of the others.... Anyway, I put in a op amp socket to swap 4558's and that's not it. (Major pain in the rear, those boards are not created to be repai...

overdrive pedal recommedations???
I need a pedal for a Deluxe Reverb (at least, also have express, vjr and 18 watt,. I'm leaning towards a Fulldrive 2 Mosfet, but it seems to me like I should build a pedal and not just buy one. (At least one that's not so complicated like a boost/overdrive). Which pedal would you recommend that is e...

Have you actually tried the Tonemaster? I know some people who prefer that amp over all the others, and they've tried a lot of them.

Re: Call for help: the new Amp Garage wiki needs content!!!
Sorry to say, I have no idea how to add info to the wiki. :o I'll get some stuff up there if they tell me how to add info. All you have to do is use your same login that you use for ampgarage. The link to the login page is in the upper right corner of the main wiki page; it's kind of easy to miss. ...

Re: Cleaning Pots..
I used to be an Audio Video electronics repair technician. The Chemtronics Tuner Renu was for tuners...the old kind before remote controls that is. The ones with the clunky dials. We used that for multi-pole switches, not pots. For pots the DeOxit. It's been awhile now, but if I remember correctly.....
