Re: Strat/Dumble. Always a problem for me until today!
I use a Boss GE7 with my build; tweaked to add a little bit of lower mids and that WORKS with any Dumble

Different tubes in a poweramp; results?
Hey all! I have this 8x EL34 amp that I use to fill with 6L6 tubes as they just sound great on bass! But now I had that idea to mix different output tubes (as they are biased per 4 tubes. Can I use 2 different sort of tubes in an amp? And how will it sound? For example, if I use 4x 6L6 and 4x EL34 T...

Re: Dumble for bass; any known mods?
Thanks all!
I like my own amp but I have an old Fender Bassman 135 for my experimentations so I'll use that one as a base for adding the dumble style preamp. Will keep you updated!!!!!

Dumble for bass; any known mods?
Hey all! Just wanted to know; I've build some amps and own a great Dumble like build that just really sings.... I also play bass and while I love the tone and the versatileness of the Dumble, it has too little bass response and clean power (only build a 50W version) to be usefull for bass. Are there...

Re: Dynacord Twen; more???
Thanks!
I tried some Eminence speakers at the person that imports Eminence here in my town. He didn't have that much speakers but in the end the Wizard really blew me away.
So I think I'll go with that one

Re: Dynacord Twen; more???
Hi Bernaduur, do you like the sound of the amp? If you change to fixed bias you'll probably get 2-4 Watts extra at the expense of loosing the original sound. Change electrolytical capacitors and check some speakers. To keep the weight low - it's only 10kg (!) - you could try high efficiency neodyms...

Re: Dynacord Twen; more???
Haha, I usually forget I can switch between languages :D I've DC'ed bias the phase inverter and that results in some more headroom But today I found out that the main issue with this amp is the speaker; on my 4x10 I get more headroom, better sounds and a nice OD / breakup..... old speaker is just ba...

Re: Vintage tube Bass amp Question
I got a Dynacord BassKing for free and man, that one can go LOW! Asked Dynacord and they delivered the schematic very quickly! With my other bass amps (Ampeg and Fender Bassman) I am not scared to put em over my guitar cabs, with the BassKing I already hear my speakers flap on high notes........ tha...

Re: Dynacord Twen; more???
If you really want more headroom, you could convert it to fixed bias and DC bias the phase inverter... OK! I'll try em! I was also thinking of converting it to 6L6, more because I have some of em laying around......... I can imagine to change the OT but could the PT still be used? Some extra info I...

Re: Dynacord Twen; more???
Does yours look like this inside? [img:1024:768]http://www.student.ru.nl/r.kerkhof/Posts/Twen2.jpg[/img] Doesn't appear to be much room for a circuit board if you tore out all the PTP stuff. Your best bet would be to probably just change the electrolytic caps, install a 3 prong cord and call it goo...

Hey all! I just got in the posession of a Dynacord Twen amp..... great little amp with 1 12" speaker that sounds a tad like the Fender Deluxe amps........ Schematic And although it is quite a nice amp with a very unique sound and a great tremolo system it lacks the headroom for me...... same with th...

Tube Bass OD!
Hey all! I found this schematic a long long time ago on google when I searched for bass OD. Nowadays I can't seem to find it anymore......... [img:1600:1200]http://www.student.ru.nl/r.kerkhof/Posts/BassOD.gif[/img] Dunno if it is an already exsisting OD pedal, rack or somthing else. Can't find anyth...

Re: what humbuckers do you like with dumble's?
I've tried a lot of different humbuckers;
I stayed now with a Nordstrand vintage humbucker; great sound that has a tad less treble. Awesome!

Re: Dumble BBC-1 Schematic+Layout
I think the posted schematic is quite on the spot. The 3m3 to ground both biases the FET as makes the piezo work best. The potmeter as a variable resistor is a great way to make the overal gain clean up; this mod is often used in the Fuzz Face: from the technology of Fuzz Faces: If you put a resisto...
