You could get a suitable chassis from Weber or Mojo Tone and follow the layout from the Weber amp kit page using top shelf components.

You didn't say what amp you own or which champ transformer you were talking about but I would make sure the reverb send and return tubes are good first.A reverb transformer can be bought new for less than $12.
