Re: Decrease in volume
I'm up and running again with normal volumes. I do have a minor crackling when I push the amp hard. So there is probally another cold solder joint somewhere. For now, I'm going to enjoy it for a little. I really like the reverb I added. The problem was the red wire from the reverb transformer was st...

Decrease in volume
I have had my dlite 22 for over a year now. Over the past year I have been constanly trying different things, like adding reverb, and changing various components. Anyways, all this tweaking took its toll on my amp. I started to get crackling sounds that I could not pin point. So the worst case scene...

Re: Question about strat tone through non hrm
Wow...Seems like a lot of people feel this way. I have heard some decent sounding clips on brownnote's website. I'm thinking of trying the 100k idea like the #124. If I see a heritage 12-65 speaker for cheap I'll try to swipe it up. When I first built the dlite I tried the speakers in my hotrod devi...

Re: Question about strat tone through non hrm
I agree, I thought I was the only one. My strat sounds great on clean but the OD doesn't sing to me at all. I've been getting irritated because, I hear all these great sounding clips. I tried a bunch of suggestions, they help but not as much as I would hope. Maybe someone colud post a bunch of Strat...

Re: Would this Bassman head be a good specimen?
Thanks for the advice, I'll probally have better luck selling my guitar on ebay, then just buying everything needed with the money to build another amp.

Would this Bassman head be a good specimen?
Hi guys, I know this guy who has this 1968 fender bassman. This thing is just sitting in his closet. He had me see if I could get it to work. I replace two of the preamp tubes and replaced the 2 prong plug with a 3 prong. I left the original pwr tubes RCA6l6, since I was fixing it for nothing. The a...

Re: Guess who ...
I was watching the Crossroads 2007 concert on DVD. When John mayer was playing, I was able to get a quick close-up of his Dumble Amp. After looking at the pictures Runaway J posted, John and Robben both have their EQ's dial in exactly the same. Interesting

Re: strange v1 voltages
Maybe try some contact cleaner. I went through the same bull #$%. I ended up replacing the socket after I tried all the common scenario's. That worked for me. Good Luck.

Re: strange v1 voltages
I would check the tube socket itself, I had a similiar problem. The socket had a green corrosion from the flux in the solder. This cause a poor connection with the tube, which resulted in low voltage values. Pull the tube out and check the voltage again. Good luck.

Re: Latin Time!! New amp tweaks sound spicy!
Nice work, that amp sounds great. I love latin style leads. The jazzy licks compliment the style nicely.
