Re: "A box later" Dumble
Just so you know, Dumble hated being called Howard. Josh knows this. So the opposite of respectful. CW That's fair, in the video Josh says he doesn't know much about him so I suppose he just wasn't aware. I know that he preferred Alexander but it is what it is. or put another way: You and I both kn...

Re: "A box later" Dumble
Thanks, guys. I showed Josh that there was literally one mention about the BBC-1 here back in 2008 lol. Never once did I see a pic of it. Not saying I'm an expert in all things Dumble, but I don't think it's talked about much. I remain strong supporting our open dialogue and community dissection of...

What did John do? lolCharlie Wilson wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 1:26 am A lie is a lie. He did it on a silver platter. John Mayer you suck. Haha.

Re: Dumble 183 output transformer 2.2k
Here you can see the E shaped laminations with the center leg, which is in parallel with the shorter side: http://jamestransformer.com/uploads/allimg/EI-lamination.jpg this makes sense, for some reason i was presuming the center leg was perpendicular to the shorter side as it's called. thank you fo...

Re: Dumble 183 output transformer 2.2k
Which one has the axis' in parallel according to you? I tried finding what you were talking about but I'm unsure. In the images above it all seems like they're perpendicular but you see one that isn't so I am very curious to learn which one to expand my knowledge I was referring to the pictures sho...

Re: Dumble 183 output transformer 2.2k
For least coupling the magnetic axes of the PT and the OT should be at right angles. The magnetic axis is defined by the coil. As the coil winds around the center leg of the core, you want the center legs of the transformers to be at right angles for least coupling. So you need to guess or know the...

Re: Dumble 183 output transformer 2.2k
Hey helmholtz how does the orientation cause coupling in the photos above, I'm very curious to learn. In diagrams I've seen they show the PT laying down and the OT up with bells towards/away the PT as the most ideal way to orient transformers, is there something I am not seeing that you could teach ...

Re: 60's ABS is like 70s PVC
Uhoh. I installed a 60s V guard on a guitar and walked ten feet to make coffee. It was a teeeeny bit tight around the treble pickup, not stuck, tight. Uninstalled in the 80s. They are thinner than the other guards. Ok. So the guard shatterededed itself into 5 very expensive and hyper-useless pieces...

Re: "A box later" Dumble
Yup! I have been very slow proving out the v2 design (too slow, I guess!) and it works better than I thought! I'm trying to wait until the tariffs cool off before ordering v2 boards from JLCPCB but grabbing onto this momentum might make the investment worth while... An idea i humbly offer up: when ...
