Maybe put the leds in antiparalell and dont connect them to ground?

I have been wondering about this, too and was thinking the shared 470Ohm resistor drops the screen voltage at all tubes if one screen is drawing more current, resulting in some kind of compression without being too hard on all output tubes. Dont know if that is right. I chose the common 470Ohm resis...
