Re: I need help with Dumble terminology

Wow 38lbs. is light ! For some reason , I wouldn't have thought that an amp like that would be paired with an alnico speaker. Anyway, I sure do like that video clip with Billy Yates and the Strat. I have some bills to catch-up on , and I hope that by the time I have some extra cash, there are still ...

I need help with Dumble terminology

There are a lot of special terms for these Dumble style amps...Could you guys clue me in as to what this stuff means?... HRM (Hot Rubber Monkey) What is the difference in the circuit between HRM and Non-HRM. What are the differences between the Skyliner tone stack and Bluesmaster tone stack? From so...

Re: Trainwreck Chassis via Funkalicousgroove??

That comment about business eliminating the tangable product now rings true for me... I used to work in construction as an electrician, but I have developed problems in the lumbar area of my back. Now I'm becoming involved with construction management. I visit job sites as one of many many people th...

Re: Romeo Rose on YouTube

It's actually confusing to me...

He has one video which has a "montage?" of photos of himself posing with many different guitars over what appears to be quite a few years, but his attepts at playing seem like he's only been playing for a few months.

Re: BlackFace Super Reverb speaker choice

I had a mint Silverface SR with stock CTS alnico 10's, and I liked it a lot. I swapped-out the speakers for Kendrick 10's, and I liked the CTS 10's much better...That amp is gone. Now I have a beat-up Blackface SR that came with 4 different speakers, one with a ripped cone , so I threw those in the ...

Re: For those of you who wanted to hear BM-style HRM clips...

I haven't really been following the information about the Dumble style amps that much because I didn't think that I was a big fan of that type of amp, and they seem very complicated... That said , I LOVED the demo of Billy Yates and the Strat (Wow , that guy can play). I particularly like the sound ...

Re: Express build with cathode bias

I'm interested in the cathode biased Express(or a Liverpool with two EL 34's or 6l6/5881 tubes) idea also...It doesn't seem like it should be too far fetched.

Re: Asteroid Layout

Thank You for your excellent drawings, and for the name you gave the circuit...I think it sounds better than the old name, and if you don't mind, when I do my project, I want to call it an "Asteroid"

Re: Question on Gain of "Comit 60" vs. AB165 Bassman?

There are a few different Bassman head schematics with different wacky variations (differnt locations in the NFB loop , extra caps, resistors from the input to the output of the same tube)...The AB165 has three stages in each channel as in both Bass and Normal channel go through the third pre amp st...

Re: Question on Gain of "Comit 60" vs. AB165 Bassman?

I heared the Missisippi Queen clips on the Komit site and I thought that there was a lot of fat sustain. Although a never heared the Komet in person, I understand that it's supposed to be right there with an Express, and I did get to hear a couple Express clones and they were awesome. I guess if hig...

Question on Gain of "Comit 60" vs. AB165 Bassman?

Hi, I was looking at some of the Francesca drawings and also of the "Asteroid" and comparing them to Fender Bassman schematics for AB864 and AB165 , and I'm confused as to where all of the extra gain comes from ? In the case of the "Asteroid" layout, some of the values seem as though there would be ...

Re: Trainwreck clips

I think that computer speakers can be very valid(keep in mind they have some real good ones out there)...Obviously there is a lot missing from the little speakers and the digital recording, but I think that most people can hear some differences in the sound even through cheap radio speakers on a con...
