Re: Current Limiter Flickering

Late response but ended up having a short on the terminal next to the reverb board. Limiter dimmed to almost nothing when I fixed it, plugged the amp into the outlet and didn't have any smoke or signs of shorting on the PCBs. Replaced my old OT and choke while I was at it too. No sound unless I'm pl...

Re: Current Limiter Flickering

It sounds like when you had that bias diode in wrong you where feeding positive voltage into the negative end of the bias filter, so I would replace that cap just to be on the safe side. Do not put the output tubes back in until you confirm the needed negative bias going to each tube. Hmm thats a g...

Current Limiter Flickering

Re: Steel String Singer #001/#002/#004 Layout/Schematics

Chris Nichols on one of the Dumble Facebook groups is also organizing a group buy for the P2P chassis that utilizes the Hoffman boards. It might be worth sync'ing with him if you're looking for the original design. I am working on a revised chassis design now that optimizes for Erwin's PCBs. The pl...

Re: Steel String Singer #001/#002/#004 Layout/Schematics

Ok 7 more and I’ll drop a dime.... BTW....maybe Ryan could chime in about whether it is worth it to get the sides welded in. (I seem to remember him having an issue with placement of one of the side walls when I watched his video). The quote was without tack welding them. I could get a quote with w...
