Re: Harmonica Amp Questions

Thanks for the input...and that ^^^^ is a very cool looking amp!

I saw a 1950's art deco space heater recently, which inspired this design last night. Controls are obviously a Masco MA-17 "rip off". 10" speaker.

Re: Harmonica Amp Questions

I tried something different last night -- this is more complex and totally not in line with my end goal of a small single combo -- but I like the tone a lot. Certainly not in my budget or most people's, but I work at an audio company so I have access to this kind of stuff to experiment with. It's a ...

Re: Harmonica Amp Questions

Here is another site, and this link specifically is for a DIY SE 6L6. https://www.lonewolfblues.com/proj6l6se.html I'm more concerned about too much power than too little power. I built a Ceriatone Tweedle Dee kit recently -- and I love it -- but it was too loud to play at a jam session at work in o...

Re: Harmonica Amp Questions

I came across this site yesterday, it has a few harp-specific amp designs and reviews of commercial amps. He wasn't impressed with the Weber 5f2h kit, but I'm considering it.

Re: Harmonica Amp Questions

This .pdf is something I saved some years ago on this subject. Cool, I actually just found that same information myself here: https://www.harpamps.com/weber/Guitar51.html On the same site there are pictures of vintage amps like the Premier 50 and Twin 8 that are popular with harmonica players. It w...

Re: Harmonica Amp Questions

The Weber 5F2H kit is the only harmonica-oriented amp kit I've seen. I'm concerned that it would be way too much amp for practicing. I do have a Universal Audio OX, so I could deal with that just using it as an attenuator. In fact, I've been using it with my Tweedle-Dee that I built and set up a "ri...

Harmonica Amp Questions

I'm thinking about building a harmonica amp. My requirements are - 5-10 watts, essentially low enough power that I can drive it hard for tone at home and in small jam sessions without too much volume - Ideally, tremolo built in - Tone and gain optimized for harmonica That last one is really the main...

Re: New Tweedle Dee from Ceriatone kit

Thanks guys. I did the design in CAD (Solidworks), and had an online place laser cut 1/4" MDF router templates for the TV front opening and oval openings. Same route on the logo, but in 1/4" acrylic. I think it was about $30 for the router templates and $10 for several of the logos. The place I used...

New Tweedle Dee from Ceriatone kit

Hi Folks, I'm new here, just finished my first amp project. Way fun. I started with a Ceriatone Tweedle Dee kit, but wasn't thrilled with the provided faceplates. Welcome to the slippery slope. I ended up measuring the chassis hole locations, laying out the holes and having slightly oversized facepl...
