Re: Liverpool gigs
There is something very satisfying about gigging with an amp that you built yourself 8) Especially when it sounds great :!: My Express has been a blast. Congratulations :!: The best part is having people come up and look at it, then ask "WTF is that thing?" I put the ZOSO logo's on my amps so it re...

Re: Time for some changes to my Ceriatone Liverpool
Ruskie Military power tubes. The 6P14P Rosnov or Saratov have a darkness to them that works well with these amps. Also, the grid leak on the input of the clipping stage can be increased for more bass, but go to far and it'll fart out. The coupling cap on that stage can be increased as well for more...

Re: Time for some changes to my Ceriatone Liverpool
Well, you could try some Alnico speakers. Both the Greenbacks and the V30s are pretty bright... Andy I have a GDS 18watter I built that runs 2x12 Celestion blues thru it and when hooked up to the Ceriatone, it was way too bright. I'm wondering if changing the caps or resistors to a higher quality w...

Time for some changes to my Ceriatone Liverpool
I've been running my Ceriatone Liverpool for about two years now and think it's time for some changes. I'd like to darken the tone a bit, get some more lows and mids outta it and shave off some of the highs. I'm running it thru a 4x12 avatar cab pushing two Celestion Greenbacks and two vintage 30's....

Re: Ceriatone Express: Does it sound good at low volume?
my ceriatone liverpool has the PPIMV installed and I'm very pleased with how well it works, and I'm not a fan of Master Volume amps. You can get the volume down low, but lets be honest, the amp isn't doing what it was designed to do and it's gonna make some noise, but it's not gonna sound like a wre...

Vintage Guitar article on tubes
November issue of VG has an incredible article by Terry Kilgore aka "the tube tramp" about using NOS tubes in amps. The most interesting aspect of his article was about using various NOS tubes in the power section, but not an entire array of the same tubes. He suggested using ONE tube such as a mull...

Re: New tubes for my Liverpool
Threw a 12at7 in the first preamp tube socket and it really cleaned up the tone and took it in the direction I was looking for. The amp has a lot more clean headroom to it yet still keeps that wreck vibe when you crank on the guitars volume control. A full set of NOS tubes and some new speakers will...

Re: New tubes for my Liverpool
My reason for using the Celestion golds is that the Liverpool is running 4xel84's for a minimum of 36 watts and since the blues are rated for about 15....I've actually blown up a blue in my gds 18 watter and I run 2x12 blues in them....I love the sound of those speakers.... my current can has 2x12 g...

New tubes for my Liverpool
It's time to do some tweaking on my Ceriatone Liverpool and I'd like some recommendations. 1. I'm looking to "smooth" the tone out and would like to replace the tubes. The amp is pretty aggressive in the front end and I'm sure it's the stock pre-amp tubes causing alot of it. I have NOS in my 18watt ...

Re: Liverpool head in 1x12 combo?
My liverpool is in a head cab which allows me to plug it into either my 2x12 or 4x12 cabs. I tried it thru a 1x12 and really didn't like the sound of the amp, it took the 2x12 to get it moving and it really comes to life thru the 4x12.

Re: express or liverpool
mlp I just recently went thru the same dilemna that you are and if you take the time to just go back thru the threads on this site you will find a ton of info regarding each amp individually, but also comparison threads. It's really worth your time to read them all as they will provide you a wealth ...

Re: Gigging with a wreck
I'd be very curious to know the differences between the wrecks and the allesandros......
a side by side comparison test would be very cool...
problem is I'd want the allesandro too

Re: Gigging with a wreck
Our digital camera failed the "bounce" test that the wife subjected it to. I really need to get off my butt and go out and buy one. It was a review of the Allesandro amps I read a long time ago that took me down the road to where I am now. I think it was a Vintage Guitar article over a decade ago th...

Re: Gigging with a wreck
This thing sounds great with both my tele and strat... but I should be arrested for assault when I plug in the Flying V or Les Paul... I'd love to hear Gary Moore with one of these....people would get hurt...hospitals filled with those with broken eardrums...children would be orphaned... oh the huma...
