Ok thanks, some good information there.
I'll check out that Black/Silverface to Tweed mod - could work in this WEM!

Anyone modded WEM Dominator MKIII's before?
Anyone here modded old WEM amps?
I've got a WEM Dominator MKIII chassis here that sounds great - I want to mod Channel 2 for more of a Marshall sound, and keep the original Channel 1 circuit for a cleaner Fender tone as per the MKIII schematic.

Re: Amp project - 5w single ended EL84 circuit not working - volume loss?

Amp project - 5w single ended EL84 circuit not working - volume loss?
Hi all, Recently I picked up this amp project for cheap - it's a 5w single ended amp made by Alien. Uses an EL84. The issue is that the amp passes signal, however it is extremely quiet. I've measured pins on the 12AX7's and all seems right there in terms of connectivity and voltage to the plates, ho...

Re: First post, first amp build - Ceriatone Expression?
Great reply and much appreciated. Thanks. I've read that Trainwrecks can be very high gain - is the oscillation that edgy? I'm not after monumental amounts of drive here - more about tone than distortion per se. Essentially my main amps are my Soldano SLO100, an early No Stripe/Black Dot Mesa MKIII ...

First post, first amp build - Ceriatone Expression?
Hi all, first post here. I've built up a few Blackface boards, a Tweed Champ, used to run a pedal repair business on the side and have done various mods on Marshall, old Mesa Marks etc... I'm thinking of building my first amp - a Ceriatone Trainwreck Express clone. I want to run this into my old ear...
