Re: Problems with a high gain AB763
For the high pitched 'noise', disconnect the negative feedback wire. If the noise disappears, reverse the plate leads of the output transformer. For the low end buzz, and the squeal if it isn't solved already, make a small notch in a wooden dowel about the size of a pencil. Move some wiring around w...

Re: Silverface Deluxe Reverb Hum
Just for sh*ts and giggles, change the cables. Then look at the lead dress around the tubes. Take out the 'send' tube. Hum? Look at the lead dress around the Reverb control. You'll get it. Move wiring around and listen if the hum gets better/worse.

Re: Peavey chassis straps?
No, no; I don't mean the handle, but the chassis straps; [img:640:480]http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix0903/3608_Peavey_LTD_400_strap_1.jpg[/img] apparently, from the steel guitar forum (and more apparent is that a lot of steel players like their Peavey), the straps were available a while ago, ...

Peavey chassis straps?
Hello! Does anyone know a source for replacement chassis straps on an older Peavey? These are bigger (over 6"), so Fender ones won't line up. Or is it a case of separate bolts and a cup washer? Someone must have them. Or not? Thanks for any tips.

Re: What is this 'tube' in a 65 Amp London Pro?
My guess, based on size constraints, is a simple power mosfet like an IRF820 that can work off of the B+ in the amp. I've seen it done a few different ways, even added as a discreet component, inside a few amplifiers. Sounds cool, but it did throw me for a loop having it mounted inside a tube-like e...

Re: What is this 'tube' in a 65 Amp London Pro?
No guess, that's it! Thanks! How it got into this 65 Amp I don't know, the website makes no mention of this being an option. Sounds cool, though. But teemuk, thank you again. The mystery is solved.

Re: coupling cap question
60Hz/120Hz 'hum' is an open filter, or a ground loop. A bad coupling cap will have some DC on the following tube and the grid. Most meters won't spot this, as the input impedance of the meter will just load down the negligible voltage. Well, negligible to the meter. If you are serious about tinkerin...

What is this 'tube' in a 65 Amp London Pro?
Hello! I hope this isn't a totally ridiculous question. In a 65 Amp London Pro, not mine, there is a 'tube'. It is a white plastic 'sleeve', marked Jet City 1612. It appears to have a bulb inside that glows, but it can't be a tube. Or is it? No Google luck, so I ask here. Thanks, and I apologize if ...
