Re: Peavey chassis straps?

I used to repair a lot of Peaveys and they were always very helpful and very willing to get me any parts I needed and the prices were very reasonable. I haven't contacted them in a few years but it can't hurt to get in touch with their parts department.

Re: New project finished, NEW PROBLEMS!

Just a head's up: I noticed that you fused the line voltage on the opposite side of the switch. If the fuse is on the neutral side and blows, the circuit can still be live from the ground connection. It is better to place the fuse in series with the switch on the hot side. Then if it blows, it will ...

Re: Gibson GA-15 RVT

I believe I have the same amp and I have only found one schematic for the model number which matches the hardware that I have. As often noted, Gibson could have several different versions of amps with the same model number. For the GA-15RVT, most schematics I found don't show the reverb as being tra...

Re: Gibson GA-15RVT Overhaul

By the way, the schematic posted earlier was said to be the correct one for the amp in question however, the reverb in the schematic is not transformer driven so it is likely not the right schematic. I have the same amp, transformer driven reverb, and have found several schematics, all of which were...

Re: screening sweet spots

Regarding the Fender Princeton, screen nodes need to have the current limited. In Fender amps that use a choke, the screen tap is right off of the choke. The choke has very low resistance and therefore cannot provide enough current limiting so each screen has its 470 ohm resistor in series. The BF P...

Re: 6G16-A/Weber treble pot question

I have a brown Super that uses the tapped pot. It wasn't working very well, cutting out, losing volume and such so I replaced it using the Weber pot and it worked very well. The other channel was fine and the response sounds very close between the two. I offer this as it was not a scratch build but ...
