light up logo plates? how do they make those?
So Im sure everyone is familiar with Morgan, Matchless, Badcat etc that have the light up logo plates. Anybody know how they are doing that? I have one of the amps mentioned above and it has vellum paper on the back of the badge part to diffuse the light. I'm assuming its a laser cut/engraved piece ...

AO35 trannys in an 18 watt lite IIB build. HEATERS??
Hey everybody, So I have an AO35 that I did the standard old Carmen Ghia thing to and it was just a 'meh' project that kinda fizzled out. So I've been wanting to do an 18watt Lite IIb for awhile now and thought  I'll use the AO35 transformers for that vintage Mojo! Fast forward to me wiring up...

PPIMV diagram for 18 watt lite IIB?
Hey everybody, working on a lite IIB build. I'm going to try a few volume options including VVR, PPIMV, both, etc... Can someone point me in the direction of a PPIMV wiring for an 18watt? I can only find a few variations on different types of 18watts. Also, curious if a Spitfire MV would work, becau...

recommendations for next amp build
hey everyone, I'm mostly a lurker around here, but I love this forum and its wealth of knowledge. I just finished up a Rocket for a buddy and I've got the itch to do another build for myself, but I can't nail down what to build. My main amp is an AC15 normal channel style amp (Morgan AC20), so I wou...

Re: Just finished first rocket build, any build suggestions?
The input with a shielded cable is never a bad idea. And I'd have lifted it farther away from the heater wire to pin 9, and then cross the heater at more of a 90 degree angle. The cathode bias ground wire on my builds goes to the screw on the socket of the closest EL84. I too now wrap components ar...

Re: Just finished first rocket build, any build suggestions?
Tone wise, one of the best amps, if not the best, I've ever played through.MHProd wrote:Looks pretty good. How's the sound/noise?
Noise wise, pretty darn quiet. Has a really subtle hum but the owner never even noticed it.

Re: Just finished first rocket build, any build suggestions?
I know you weren't looking for solder critique, but I just wanted to mention, some of the turrets look barely soldered. Not trying to be nitpicky; just want to let you know. Personally, if I find that all my solder is running down inside the turret, I back off the heat on my iron a touch. Others ma...

Just finished first rocket build, any build suggestions?
Hey everyone, I just finished this RJ Rocket and thought I would post it and ask for some thoughts on things I could improve upon for next time, which will be pretty soon. It is my first TW style build. I realize some of my joints are not the prettiest so I don't really need that pointed out. But I ...

Morgan AC20 and EF86 AC15 question
So right now I have an amp, from what I can see is an exact AC15 (ef86) normal channel only, clone. There is just something about it I don't like. I don't want to post the builders name, because he is small shop guy... Last year I had a Morgan AC20Deluxe head, which is also a Normal channel (ac30?) ...

AO-35 conversion - Super17?
Hey everyone, long time lurker, first time poster. I have an AO35 on the way. I originally wanted to do a project Carmen Ghia conversion, but now I'm kinda leaning towards doing a super 17. So does anybody have any info on the super17? Layout or schem? I've found a lot of info on the ao35 conversion...
