I'm having second thoughts about this. I'm probably going to take the amp to a tech. This is obviously beyond my abilities. I just hope it isn't going to cost too much. Thanks for your help!

Here's a dumb question...to check for dc voltage for pins 3 and 4 do I put the multimeter leads on both pins at once, or do I put one lead on a pin and the other to the chassis and do that for each pin?

When I look at a socket diagram, is it showing the pins from the top or bottom of the socket? Do I check it with a tube in it?

I have read about how to discharge filter caps, although I've never done it. I'm willing and able to however. I mean semi handy, I've never had any instruction on how to use a multimeter and I'm ok at soldering. But with instruction I could be better at it. I can provide pics of inside the chassis. ...

Hi. I have a Randall Diavlo 5 watt amp that has very little output, new tubes and everything. When I first turned it on it heated up and smoked, and I found the power tube was faulty.
