Re: I need help understanding a Tone Stack
Point taken, Matt H. Thank you for the confirmation. And now I'd like to say something else: the way you speak to me isn't nice. As, I am gathering, you should be able to tell, I am new at this. I clearly don't know near as much about electrical circuits as you do. But to call my question-a question...

Re: I need help understanding a Tone Stack
Thanks for all the technical information-I appreciate it all. But I do really just want to re-direct to my question: how to Lo Pass within my tone stack, so my thread doesn't become a meandering postings that can't really help me.

I need help understanding a Tone Stack
I have an amp circuit I'm trying to understand, to help me get rid of an unappealing high-end sizzle that occurs with increasing prominence the more gain you dial in from the Gain knob. I changed what I thought to be the coupling cap-which initially was a 10n-, coming right off the plate of the only...

Re: Can you use jumper wires to test parallel circuits?
In what way? I'm attempting to do this with a voltage divider, wherein I'm paralleling R2. R1 is preceded by the 12ax7 plate, but there is a cap in between it and the plate.Big difference between testing across a plate vs cathode vs other resistors using this approach.
So how would this pan out?

Re: Can you use jumper wires to test parallel circuits?
Just don't kill yourself doing it (I.e., use the appropriate amount of fear & respect! Yes-Amen to that! Ok-so let me ask you this: let's say with the aforementioned resistor, I had a 500pf cap, and another 1000pf cap. Could I double those two individual caps together within the same clips and see ...

Can you use jumper wires to test parallel circuits?
I'm trying to find the proper valued cap to go across a 20k 1/4w resistor. I'm using jumpers that are approx. 1 foot long. How about it guys? Will it work?

Re: Need help with Tone Stack Calculator
OK-thanks for all that info (especially the Preamp Output Impedance Calc-very helpful!)
So: how would I convert the Tone Stack Calc to a single Tone Knob Tone Stack?

Need help with Tone Stack Calculator
Anyone here ever used the Duncan Tone Stack Calculator? I don't know how to figure out the Source resistance and load impedance.
Anyone here know how to do this?

Tubedude:what's the highest DC voltage I can expect on that particular circuit line? I'm trying to see what wattage rating R21 should be?

Re: Help with Bugera V5 Bright Caps Mod & Reverb noise
Thanks for the reply. By "strapping" did you mean to say "swapping"? Or did you mean "strapping", like to strap onto-like as in Piggyback? And: what is that line (R16, R21, and that line to "BDM2") do? Incidentally, I can see, up in the Reverb area, where it says 7 X9, is going to 8 X9, so I can see...

Help with Bugera V5 Bright Caps Mod & Reverb noise
I have owned a V5 since '10 and have been generally satisfied with it even though I readily admitted that I had the same general complaint about its tone that every other Bugera V5 owner has had: it's tone is excessively dark (think: blanket over the speaker). About 2 months ago I thought I'd resear...
