Guys,
How about Sunn OT's? They started out as Dynakits till they found out the OEM for dynaco. Thanks.

I bought a 4u off of them last year. Great quality and price. It is my main proto-typing chassis.

Re: Preamp questions
I think that there may be a reason why Ken didn't use that last triode. Yes, it seems wasteful but for whatever reason it is unused. Very cool that you have a built in opportunity to experiment.

Re: Howdy Folks
Hi Dart, I was one of the folks over at 18Watt.com that was interested (melodymaker). I am still interested and would like any details that you would be willing to share. I too usually scratch build but lately I tire of the metal work. If Dartanion can put the whole thing together I'm in. I have loo...

Re: Noisy Liverpool!
I found the issue with the volume pot. There was a stray connection between the grid and the plate at the tube socket(V1-7). This type of layout makes it hard to diagnose. This thing is bright! I took out the bright cap so I could use the treble. I actually like the neck/middle position on my strat ...

Re: Noisy Liverpool!
180'ed the board, relocated the cathode bypass cap, shortened up the leads, and put sheilds on V1&2. Mucho better but one problem remains. The GUITAR volume must be wide open or off. Any significant adjustment and all hell breaks loose. There is much scratch and then it starts to hooting. The amp vo...

Re: Noisy Liverpool!
Any advice on the PI values for using two el84's instead of four? I could use the 18 watt PI but that wouldn't make it a wreck would it?

Re: Noisy Liverpool!
The carbon films should look familiar as well! I need more so look for a PM. I did ground the sheilds when they were installed. I'm not going to fool around with this one too long. I feel that I may have gone a little too far this time. I will rotate the board and re-route the leads but by the end o...
