Allyn,
I bought some Clarostats from www.westlabs.com that worked out well in my wreck build. If I'm not mistaken they are pretty similar to the pots used in the amp project you are currently working on. (no names I suppose!)

Re: HERESY???
Wow! Thanks for the great info Geetarpicker! Do you have any idea what brand the two transformers (black/grey) that Ken used might be? (Stancor, Triad Heyboer, Pacific etc.) Looking at Francesca, someone mentioned that they thought the Grey output might be a Triad. However after looking at pictures ...

Re: Bias pot for wreck build?
I see what you’re saying. That’s definitely a good point. I was looking in mouser and I saw a pot very similar to the Francesca build that was under a dollar. It appears that you would have to take the chassis out of the cabinet to set the bias with this type of setup. Do you have any suggestions fo...

Bias pot for wreck build?
Anyone have suggestions on a halfway decent bias pot for my wreck build? I was considering using the same setup as the Komet which is a Clarostat 10 turn precision pot and thumbwheel (very nice!). However, the pair is over $50 for the two at www.newark.com and is a little more than I would like to s...

Re: Pics from old Trainwreck page
Sorry about that Omar I should have been clearer. I was referring to the images from the old trainwreck.com website that contained the list of known wrecks by name and image. I realize that that there was an earlier post talking about how the new trainwreck.com website has been kind of a disappointm...

Pics from old Trainwreck page
I was wondering if anyone might have any info and/or pics from the old Trainwreck page? Thankfully, since one of the members on this forum had the original picture of Francesca saved we were able to identify the amp in its original state. Although there was no knowledge related to circuitry the pics...

Re: Parts source?
Hello,
Unfortunately, I can't help you with the board and terminals but I can tell you that when I took my Komet 60 apart it had NKK (model S332) on/off and standby switches. The mouser part # is 633-S332 and I believe they are $5.90 ea. They are currently on backorder right now.

Dual Bias Supply (how?)
I was wondering if anyone might have some thoughts on designing a dual bias setup for the output tubes on the Express. As far as I know, I think the THD Flexi 50 is the only production amp that has this feature that enables the user to bias each power tube separately so that you don’t have to use ma...

Re: Extinct Trainwreck pots
Thanks for your input Mark. Just out of curiousity, have you heard anything about the custom wound Clarostat pots from Westlabs? http://westlabs.com/Frames.HTML I am considering using the Westlabs or Alessandro. Any thoughts on these two brands or other high quality pots on the market? What would yo...

Re: Perforated tag board source
I have access to a CNC vertical machining center where I work and might consider purchasing material and making the perforated board myself. If I decide do this would anyone out there be interested? If there is enough interest I will consider purchasing material and making a one time run. The materi...

Perforated tag board source
Does anyone know of a good source for perforated tag board that is similar to what Ken used in his amps? It appears to be very convenient for moving around components and making changes.

Extinct Trainwreck pots
I remember reading a post where someone mentioned that Ken used to use pots in his amps that had a particular taper. Unfortunately, the manufacturer who made these is either out of business or is no longer making them. Does anyone know who originally made these, what their specs were (taper?), and w...
