Re: Project ideas please?
Thanks again. Assembly and following schematics is one thing but I like to try and understand what it is I'm doing.

Re: Project ideas please?
Although I couldn't find an AX-84 with the "L/R" option schematic, what you cite sounds right to me at first blush. Can you share a link to that? You can add a volume pot to the Stout added gain stage if desired. Cheers, Dave O. The L/R switch option is just a little addition on the third page of t...

Re: Project ideas please?
Well thanks again. I've looked at the AX84 and the Stout as suggested and while they are similar in some ways they are quite different in others. Have I got this right? The Stout looks pretty simple. (please correct me if I'm wrong). The Relay chops V1-B in or out of the signal path after the Tone a...

Re: Project ideas please?
OK. Thanks M and AG. I'll plug away along your suggested lines for now and see what I come up with. Just looked at Bogner Duende and Bugera BC15. Both 15 Watt 2 Channel (Foot Switchable). That is the sort of thing I think I'm aiming at. In full tube construction although I suppose SS rectified is OK...

Re: Project ideas please?
Do you want to be able to toggle between the cathode bypass capacitors on V1 via a footswitch? Dave O. No, not really. Well, I'm not really sure what I need to do, which is why I've asked. I'd really like to have 2 distinct channels but I can't seem to find a schematic for a Low Watt, 2 Channel, Tu...

Re: Project ideas please?
OK. Thanks. I can see the changes made here compared to my original build (as per book). 2 input jacks instead of 1. Presence and Resonance Pots added. Filter Cap number and sizes changed (from 40, 16, 8uF to 16, 16, 8, 8uF ) / and voltage divider resistor 22k, not 68k. :?: (Why?) Impedance switch u...

Re: Project ideas please?
I'll get more for you, but the 2-stroke is pretty much a Princeton I think with a couple of mods. Has a Boost / Voice switch to flick from Tweed to Blackface to Plexi switching to a couple of different Caps before preamp 12AX7 1st triode. Back to the second after single tone pot. 5Y3GT tube rectifie...

Project ideas please?
I've just had a mate come and play through my little build project, the 2-Stroke from Dave Hunter's Tube Amp book. Very nice tone and generally a good sound. He would like me to build something similar for him but he would like foot switch 2 channel option. I've been looking at the circuit for the S...
