JMP 2203 Preamp?
I am trying to find an excuse to get rid of my 223 1978 Master Model MKII Lead. AN iconic amp-certainly, and takes a host of vintage pedals famously. My motivation is thin wallet syndrome. So much gear I want and cannot afford, so trying to move stuff around/weigh my options. Now, I already have a G...

Size of Output vs. Power Transformer?
I have been considering having my Traynor Bassmaster early 70's tube amp modified to try and get a Plexi Hot rod 'brown'/ Van Halen 1 sound. The transformers are huge on this Traynor amp. I read where it could be a good thing to have a extra large output transformer, for that punchy SRV type sound, ...

Re: fixing a Dremel
I have a Craftsman Dremel. The sleeve crapped out. I ordred one from Sears. Cost me about 17.00 shipped. It turned out to be a stock Drmel part I could have got from Ace Hardware for less than 5 bucks.

Two Bassman Fender Questions
1) Loose the two Chocolate Drop Caps in my Bassman? As you cqan see, any replacement would have to be radial caps. I bought two 6PS Orange drops, that were supposed to be NOS, however4 they do not look like the old ones. 2) If I put 2K screen resistors ( right now I have 5K ), would that be low enou...

.05 600VDC Capacitor source
The only ones I can find are the Jupiters, and they are a littel rich for my pocketbook.
Does anyone knw of a source for a good Axial .05 600VDC ( I've found Sprague Vishay makes a .05 600VDC, but its radial), or a good economical substitute?

Re: What do I did?
These guys are working you over. You'll have to take it. Did you put that wire back where it belongs and try to turn the amp on? Any smoke? Did something happen when you touched that wire to something? What is making you have cause for concern? If this is the mains feed from the wall socket, I don'...

What do I did?
So I touched the hot on off switch wire to ground on this cheap little Vox tube amp I bought to practice ( and becasue I can't resist anything thsats British racing Green) . The fuses did not blow. As you can see, one switch wire..the hot I think, runs string to the Power Transformer I think. Did I ...

Wanna see something Very Unusual? Very Scarce Old Amp
I picked these two units off on Fleabay probably 5 years ago on a BIN of less than 2 hundred. Now, modern Tube Power amps and Pre-amps abound, but this in one of the few ever VINTAGE tube power amp/Preamp combos I have seen. Its the Teisco ( who made Teisco stuff?)Flagship amplifier tube Power/Pre a...

Re: Plexi- 'Hot Rodding' a Traynor YBA-IIA?
Sorry for being MIA on this topic. I found that there are three versions of the YBA Bassmaster MKII Traynor amp; http://www.prowessamplifiers.com/schematics/traynor/Bassmaster_Mark_II.html "VERSION 1"; http://www.prowessamplifiers.com/schematics/traynor/Bassmaster_MK_II_Yba_1-Version_1.html "VERSION...

I don't want to drop any names, but this person is no hack. He has his own line of amps out and is at the Namm shows, and you've probably heard of him. He does not have a reputation as a hack...more like a famous master amp maker that also does some mods by request apparently.
