Switchcraft user here also. I will run a piece of paper through the switch part with a little Deoxit and it will clean it a little - it seems to help with the coating. On older switched with some slight corrosion I use very fine sandpaper - make one swipe only - then clean with a swipe of paper and ...

This sounds silly - but have you tried shielding the guitar better - with actual foil and everything is grounded properly. Case in point - kid complains of feedback squeal in his newly built amp. I go through it several times and just can't duplicate the complaint. I ask him to bring his "Les Paul" ...

I was able to order a new pot and knob from CTS - which should be here is a few days - and I can finally get this job outa here.

The owner broke off the shaft from the pot. I suppose it fell against something.

Mechanical failure - so I have to replace it.

Don't you think it's a standard 250K pot? With, like, 14% tolerance? I haven't been able to locate a schematic either - so it's either a 250K - or a 200K - either of which could have drifted a little. Or knowing Mesa - it's a 220K - If I only had a schematic ...... But - yes - I have contacted Mesa...

Help please I have a Mesa Express 5:50 Combo amp in my shop - needs a replacement pot - Channel 1 - treble pot - # on pot 590148 Measures 215K - which seems a little odd to me - but it is a Mesa Does anyone know how I can get a replacement pot for this machine? - OR - Is there an aftermarket replace...

Since I already pissed off one newb and scared him off, I might as well go for two. You aren't ruffling any feathers. We just find it amusing (at least I do) when the newb of the day comes in and, as Tonemerc said so well, wants us to redesign the chevette into a corvette. Next? Who's number three?...

If you haven't built an amp before from scratch you may want to start with some simple circuits and go up from there.

I found that once I was able to get the holes aligned properly - or at least close to it - I worked on the numbering around one hole - and once it was satisfactory I simply copied it to each additional hole. Who is using Front Panel Designer for manufacturing amp face plates for their amps? I have recently "discovered" this vendor with the free application - and frankly - I find it a wonderful tool for design work of the panels. My question is this: I cannot get exacting measurements even at the smalles...
