Re: hot rod deville power reduction
truly i just find the deville unusable in rehearsal. i play in a country outfit so distortion is not need to often. if i bring the deville to rehearsal my singer is asking to turn down when its on 2. granted the rehearsal space is pretty small.

hot rod deville power reduction
1 thing i know i would like to do is reduce the power of the deville. i still want full power when needed but for the most part its just to much for a rehearsal situation. i would like to use both amps (deville/deluxe) in stereo at rehearsal. installing some kinda 30w/60w switch would be nice. any a...

Re: Hot rod deluxe problem
++ on the PI plate resistors. While the circuit isn't identical, I saw these cause problems on a number of DeVilles back in my repair days. Replacing those, the switching FET and those large resistors fixed about 90% of the repairs on those models. the plate resistors are R78/79 correct? the switch...

Re: Hot rod deluxe problem
Someone's earlier mod. Don't know what it is. i understand its a earlier mod more after what it is and what it does. The big, white "cement" resistors in this photos are the notorious ones that often fail in this amp. The circuit board is getting baked and is discoloring. They are part of the DC su...
