Re: Formica Boards
Only reason I used it was because of the cool factor. I believe the material I used was around .050 thick, which isn't quite as thick as the material HAD used. IMHO, G10 is much better in so many ways for circuit board material, but HAD being the master scavenger used what he had access to and plen...

Re: 124 or 102 OT question
I have a spare 100W plexi output transformer and am contemplating either a 102 HRM or a 124 build. Which is better for each, a fender or a Marshall OT? I've seen Marshall listed in the bom's for the 124 but have also read in some posts to use a fender twin. If you want to be original correct, then ...

Re: 150k resistor
That's kind of what I figured. I don't think I would mind the voltages being a little high going in, scaling down isn't a problem.

150k resistor
If I omit the Fet circuit, what happens if I don't include the 150k resistor to ground?

Re: Thank you forum members and administrators
I totally agree with everyone. I don't even know how I happened onto AmpGarage but so glad I did. Aside from a Ctone kit I built first a few years ago, I was a complete novice. After hanging around, reading through posts and asking questions when I get really stuck I've learned tons over a year or s...

Diode for Switching Relays
Currently I'm using 1N4007's in switching my 12v relays. Is the 1N4007 good, or would one of the other 1N400x diodes be better. Or does it matter?

Re: #183 ways to get more gain?
I will have to try the zener diodes. This is all turning out to be a really fun mod to do

Re: #183 ways to get more gain?
I've got it going from the OD vol to ground. Tried different variations with resistors from diode to ground with no real significant difference. In just playing around with the switching, though I jumped the wiper from the od drive to the master wiper. Put it all on a DPDT and it works pretty good....

Re: #183 ways to get more gain?
I love this idea. Been playing around with several variations on this one - different positions in the signal chain, different value diodes and with an on/off switch. Gives plenty, and I do mean PLENTY of gain! Had several guys in my shop who heard it with the mod and they all liked what they heard...

Re: #183 ways to get more gain?
would default to turning the preamp volume (V1A, if you would) all the way up Gil Good idea you could alter the ground on the input pot.. Ground it in clean mode and lift it (whatever value sounds good in OD) put it on a relay that activates when you go to OD. :D Tony This sounds like it might be a...
