That's not good news. Seemed like Switchcraft stuff was one of those rare constants in the universe.
Just looked quickly, the mil-spec open frame version is the C12BX, $5.40 in quantities of 10 from Mouser. Not enough to break the bank but they don't give'em away.

Re: New surfin' amp
NICE!
Any sound clips yet ?
I've got a Hoffman version of that in the works; board's done, transformers just arrived & its also going in a tweed-style chassis w/2-12 cab.
Got to do all the chassis holes/drilling next.
Looking forward to getting it going, glad to hear you like yours.

Re: How to make 1x12 closed back speaker cab sound better?
Not sure if you really want to design for bass response for guitar cabinets but WinISD is a free cabinet design program that will give you response curves & porting dimensions for various drivers. You can also specify cabinet dimensions if you are using an existing cab. There is a pretty large numbe...

Re: EVM 18B
These are designs for the original EV TL cabs from the early 80's, for the 18 there are two: TL405 13cuft http://archives.telex.com/archives/EV/Builders%20Plans/TL405%20Builers%20Plans.pdf TL505 7cuft http://archives.telex.com/archives/EV/Builders%20Plans/TL505%20Builders%20Plans.pdf I built several...

Re: Which Vibroverb?
Just to clarify, it was a 6G16 that you built in the end?
I have a Hoffman AB673 about half built that is basically the same as the 6G16 minus the tapped treble & with a few value changes, so I'm interested to hear your thoughts.

Re: Chassis questions
Not sure if you are aware that the angled Fender chassis are not one piece, the ends are separate parts. While I don't have alot of experience making chassis, I do have a brake & I have found to get a 90d angle you have to over-bend slightly. This is where things start to interfere with each other o...

Re: Another soldering station recommendation
I did this same search a few months back as all I had ever used was a variety of cheap 25W pencils. Scoured the web, read lots of reviews, etc., ended up buying a Hakko FX-888. I have about half a AB763 project assembled with the new set-up & it's great. Wish I had bought a decent station years ago

Re: Parallel/single input stage
That is a nice set-up. There seems to have been a bunch of parallel input posts/queries lately. I've been thinking trying a small SE amp as a first semi-original build & the parallel front end seems like a cool feature. Do you like the sound? From my surfing, most who've done it describe it as "fatt...
