Very nice work!
Hi,
The M4 provides +320V and +18V. The 18V are regulated to 12V on each module for DC tube heating the relays for signal switching.

Re: Dumble in a Box or Egnater M4 meeting Dumble ODS

That is a cool mod. I don't think those amps ever caught on but they seem to have a lot of versatility. Thanks Structo Very versatile, you are right and you will be surprised there is a huge community of musicians who are using the Egnater M4 and Randall RM4 module amps. If you are into 19" stuff, ...

Re: Egnater M4 meeting Trainwreck

That's a nice job, especially on that hand made PCB. You must have worked hard on that. Congrats. Yeah I wondered about that too. Don't you love people that patent old ideas as new??!!? He may have not known about the prior work done by Seymour Duncan. The patent office may not have known either. J...

UPDATE:

Finaly the Dumble Module is done... :D Here the link for the one who is interested: https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?t=20246 I as well have redone the front plate of the Trainwreck module. This time I used dry clear decale paper, which I think does a good job. I am sharing as well the schema...

Re: Dumble in a Box or Egnater M4 meeting Dumble ODS

If you try it without the 68p at the master, you might like 220p across the OD level (instead of the 22nf with trimmer). On the other hand if you keep the trimmer pot, you might like 1nf instead of the 22nf. Your PCB could be a nice pedal with proper PSU Cool. You are right, the size and lay...

Re: Dumble in a Box or Egnater M4 meeting Dumble ODS

Impressive build!! I don't know the exact architecture of the Egnator platform, but I'm sure you have a reason for choosing the input resistor values at V1a. The 68p on the Master vol is compensation for long leads (180-200pf) from the preamp to Dumbleator. Is it needed in the Egnator amp or do you...

Dumble in a Box or Egnater M4 meeting Dumble ODS

Hi, This is my second thread here on this great forum board. :D I always wanted to build my own modules for the Egnater M4 and started with a prototype of the module about a year ago, which had a few bugs with regard to mechanics and getting a few parts which are more suitable for a one off producti...

Re: New K50 build

Zuccero, my front plates are engraved and then painted by a numeric controlled machine. They have a 3D look because they are 3D! They were done by a small shop at Madrid http://www.revenga2000.com/arti_placas1.htm I'm sure you can find something similar in your neighborhood. They are relatively exp...

Re: Egnater M4 meeting Trainwreck

Seymour Duncan with his convertible preamp or others like Exef ( German technology) with their programmable midi preamp in the 80s had a different approach. The modules had to be accessed internally and worked like sound modules. I owned the Exef preamp in the 80s and it was a nice preamp (which I of...

Re: New K50 build

it is a shame to be hidden and closed off in a conventional wooden case. Now that you mention, I'm working on a transparent front cabinet . Below is a test for my Plexi, done with 3mm plexiglass. Ideally it will be 10mm smoked. Can you imagine it with all the tubes lit up? :D Looks very nice tho :)...

Re: Egnater M4 meeting Trainwreck

That's awesome! Great work. I've built up a few different amps into a test chassis and a couple of them have been keepers. I have had it in the back of my head I could do the module thing and be able to keep more than one of them as a proper build. What you've done is very inspiring to further look...

Re: New K50 build

The K50 is number six. The Plexi was number 5... I have to sell them to make space for the new ones, but it's still a hobby. It will probably evolve to a point in which the hobby pays for its own expenses but to turn it into a commercial en-devour is a big leap. You just cannot take days to build a...
