Re: Some Information Regarding PS and 418P Series Capacitors
I could go for that, thyx, especially if we could find a large stock of older ones with the outer foil end marking. I think the 225 and the Mallory PVC types are similar too, both polyester. The outer foil marking on those caps was completely random. Years ago I checked a bunch of them with a scope...

Re: Dumble power supply board material
Thanks, I appreciate that. On the Dumble I had those traces were not exposed copper btw, they were completely coated in solder. I wonder if Dumble did that to make the traces thicker?

Re: Dumble power supply board material
Yes. I looked at it carefully when I still had the amp. It didn't look exactly "printed", more like home made, but it did have traces on the underside.Structo wrote:
You do know that the precision power supply board is a printed circuit board right?
Thanks again.

Re: Dumble power supply board material
Hehehehe, I thought you were asking what the circuit board was made from. That there is the blue RTV silicone goop. I am. I know the preamp board is Formica, I read up on it on this site. I'm wondering what the green power supply board material is. I realize it's probably not significant from a son...

Dumble power supply board material
Hey guys, does anybody know what that green material is that Dumble sometimes used for his power supply boards? Says MAFR on it.
Thanks!
Thanks!

markusw, that was very helpful, thank you.
Structo, there doesn't appear to be a bright cap on the Master Volume:

Re: Help me fine tune a Dumble copy (Two Rock TS-1)
Thanks for your replies, everybody. I'm in Europe, so sending the amp to Two Rock for modding is out of the question. I was hoping you guys would have some ideas of what I could try, but maybe it really just is what it is. Mac Daddy, why do you suggest removing the bright cap? How would that be diff...

Help me fine tune a Dumble copy (Two Rock TS-1)
Hi guys, I have this Two Rock TS-1 amp I could use some help with. The amp sounds pretty good, but there are a couple of issues that bother me. First, there seems to be a big imbalance in tone when switching channels. If I adjust the bass control so that it sounds nice and full on the clean channel,...
