Re: Anyone have a guitar amp blue book?
According to my 2007 Guitar Amplifier Blue Book, a Model 8240 80W 212 combo in average condition is worth $225-275, and in excellent condition $375-450. But like I said, that is an old book, from before the financial meltdown, and the value has almost certainly changed since then. The best way to fi...

Re: Anyone have a guitar amp blue book?
I do (not here at home, but at the shop), but frankly, I'd look elsewhere. The last one (at least, the last I'm aware of) was published 4-5 years ago, and is hopelessly out of date. Go on eBay and check up on recent auctions.

Re: Ben Harper Dumble "Collection"
A bit off topic, but if you don't get Fretboard Journal, you should. It is one of the best guitar magazines ever published, and is well worth its (admittedly high) price. Every article they've ever published is excellent, their photography is wonderful (they even made my dad look good!), the paper i...

Re: Bridge pickup for Tele
I love Lindy Fralin's pickups in general. Jason Lollar is well known for his Tele pickups. The other one I like a lot, the last few years, is the Dimarzio Virtual Vintage Tele bridge pickup, which is a stacked humbucker, so it is quiet, and it sounds great.

Re: original paf patent no pickups
Managed to land a pair of 1964 pre t-top patent number Gibson humbuckers for next to nothing! Covers removed and one has very short lead. Everything else is spot on no rewind etc. How much are these worth? Not nearly as much as the Patent Applied For pickups, which is silly, since they are the same...

Re: Leslie Cabinet
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing the schematic. Your switch will be the first thing I try to build from scratch. No hight voltage caps or lead dress to worry about ;) . . . and even I can understand what is happening in the circuits. Just my speed. I like the look of your cabinet too. Some good i...

Re: Give me your best cork sniffer stories
Not quite a cork-sniffing thing, but I did once have a customer ask me how much it would cost to touch-up the scratch he put in his brand new Custom Shop Relic Strat. Pretty much made my year, that one. He was worried that the scratch wasn't original. I managed to talk him out of it.

Re: Leslie Cabinet
When I made mine, I a switch box so I can use it both ways, as they both have advantages. My advice would be to experiment and see how you like to use it. Here is the switch, though it is pretty simple. It needs a couple of high power relays. (I use THIS for my 18 Watt amp.) [img:500:377]http://farm...
