Re: claritone 12AT7
Thanks for the input. No dots, but I think it is probably a GE. Found it at a junk store in a drawer and picked it up for 10 bucks.

claritone 12AT7
Can anybody help me identify this tube? Claritone used a lot of Mullards
but this one does not have a ridge on top and doesn't have a mullard code. There is a 21 on the underside as well as the markings shown.
The code is 2-39 on top and MXMA below.

Re: RCA tube
Found some better pics on the net than I had. I think you are right about it not being a command series.

Re: RCA tube
Ok. There is a logo that has mostly disapeared. Can't make it out. It is on this pic I'll send. As well, the 5751WA mark made me think it was in the command series.
Do you have some closer, clearer pics of the logo?

Re: RCA tube
Thanks, I just wanted a second opinion as to whether it is an RCA command series 5751. I got it off a guy, along with a green ROGERS labeled 12ax7, on craigslist and have ut them both in the clean channel of my AD30. I think the the ROGERS is an amperex, which went into the phase inverter, and the R...

Re: Tiny Terror Hard Wired repair / resistor
Ok. Thanks. I'll stop annoying you guys. I think I should stick to a non builder forum. It was good to hear your thought though as you guys seem to know what you are talking about more than your average amp guy - me -.... It sounds like tone isn't compromised and this is a good repair. i'll sl...

Re: Tiny Terror Hard Wired repair / resistor
So does point to point mean it is not SE and that it can't be a cathode bias resistor?

Re: Tiny Terror Hard Wired repair / resistor
the regular chinese production Tiny Terror is a circuit board amp. The Tiny Terror Hard Wired version is a point to point hand wired amp made in the UK.
What does SE amp mean....?
Yes, I'm going to get the dealer to follow up and get a description of what exactly was done.

Re: Tiny Terror Hard Wired repair / resistor
This is a real learning curve for me. CR = cap resistor? I'm not sure about the silver box. In any case, it seems like everyone feels it is a good repair with no problems. Again, I just had zero explanation about the new guts, and now have an amp that is not stock. So I just wanted to poke a few peo...

Re: Tiny Terror Hard Wired repair / resistor
I didn't have a photo of my amp before the repair, so the stock photo is off the net. The wires were different. The only thing is now there is this giant resistor....and I think you are right - this resistor is not a replacement, but an addition.

Re: Tiny Terror Hard Wired repair / resistor
Thanks for all the input. It seems like no one thinks there can be any degradation in performance so I should just relax..... In the photo of the stock circuitry there seems to be no resistor though...so it looks to me that this resistor is an addition, not a replacement. Could this be true? I was j...

Re: Tiny Terror Hard Wired repair / resistor
here is another pic... the red wire going down goes directly to the power tube and terminates there.

Tiny Terror Hard Wired repair / resistor
Hi, my TTHW had some warranty work done and came back with an extra 10 watt sand cast resistor...... see attachments.
It seems to sound a bit off to me. Could it be this extra resistor and, from the pic, can anyone enlighten me as to why it is there?
Mike
