I am not sure about the Iron, but can say my Heyboers from RJ made a huge difference in my Ceriatone Expression. No flub at all. But I as well changed all my caps to the Vintage Series Sozos. I hope you find the culprit. Good luck man.

I heard those are not bad transformers. Doubt it is a transformer issue. Have you tried tube rolling?

What about Amperex? I hear about these alot.

I musta got lucky on Sozo delivery time. My Tech ordered them Direct, and got them in a week and a half. No problems. And this was not long ago. Bout a month or so. Go figure.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I wanted to pass on my thoughts of late on my Expression. The changeover to Heyboers did help this amps harshness somewhat. I too couldn`t believe the price for the Aracom DAG. But thankfully when it arrived, the build quality was sweet. Well, near outragous actually. Like a tank. Glad I went with the DAG, it being smaller than the stock Aracom.

1 can only imagine how heavy and large that unit is inperson. ;p

I may try a Scumback M75 65 watter then at some point. Hearing good things bout that speaker.

I thought the Gain factor of a tube doesn`t really come into play in the PI.

I have the Aracom DAG. It seems to do what it says it does. But I was suprised that with all Aracom settings set at minimum, using the Attenuate and Bypass switch, setting to attenuate produced a drop in volume. Just got my Ceriatone Expression back from my Tech. guy. Earlier had bought the Heyboers from RJ Guitars, so I could upgrade the stock Ceriatone trannys. Didn`t like the stock JJs either, and switched those out for the GT EL34s Mullard reissues, and Tungsol 12AX7s. My GODS.... what a difference. Smo...
