Re: Trainwreck Rockets
Hey Mark, I played through a Faustine Phantom attenuator, a week or two ago, and to tell you the truth, it changed my thinking on them. The unit really did a good job of taking the volume down without messing with the tone. The problem is that there apparently is a very long waiting list. I'm thinki...

Re: Trainwreck Rockets
Hey Mark, I do not gig with the Express. I have a Komet Concorde that I bring out of the house. That said, one of the cool things about Ken's amps is that they are actually not that loud. I mean, you wouldn't be doing a coffee shop with one, nor would you set your 1 year old daughter down infront of...

Re: Trainwreck Rockets
Hey G,
Nothing wrong with what your friends do with their cars, as long as it makes them happy. Life is short and it goes fast - I know all too well as I have six children and one has already graduated college and moved out. Number two is soon to follow, next month.
Enjoy the day,
Tom

Re: Trainwreck Rockets
Hey RT, Ha, ha !! No, I will not be looking to experiment with these amps - I'm not even comfortable opening them up to look under the hood. Although, maybe just a few "reversible mods"............................................ On a side note, it's pretty amazing what KF developed in such a small ...

Re: Trainwreck Rockets
Hey Mark, I don't know that NOS tubes make amps sound any better in a live band setting, but when you're playing alone, or recording, I really do notice a difference. And , for sure, know one in the bar or at the wedding gives a damn - it's more a self satisfaction thing, I think. t's all part of th...

Re: Trainwreck Rockets
Well, I'm gla it was in fun. Truth be told, I never heard of this forum before until I accidentally stumbled onto it. I've been a member of The Gear Page for a good number of years under the same username as well as a member of the Acoustic Guitar Forum, though only for a few months too. Anyway, no ...

Re: Trainwreck Rockets
Hey Mark, Cherry Lynn has Mullard EL34/6CA7's for power tubes - they are welded plate single getter XF2's (not 100%sure about the XF2, as the print is very faint). Peculiar thing about the EL34's is they say "electronics for medicine" on them. The preamps are Mullard, Amperex Bugle Boy and Telefunke...
