Re: Jim Kelley Attenuator
personally its all a huge waste of money. all you want is to lower output volume so you can drive the tubes harder and get that epic power tube tone. some of them have little tweaks like boost to bass or treble but even that is a gimmick that can be fond in what I'll share with you. go to google sea...

Re: some tesla el34s (rare or not?)
yea the transistors were marked as though they were the real deal. sounded worse than the 18 year old ones i took out so i knew something was up. stupid you'd think seeing as i got all 3 for like $15. and i payed for what i thought were genuine "ON" brand and got boosh! those last tubes in the pics;...

Re: some tesla el34s (rare or not?)
yea that guy has a bunch of tubes for sale on e-bay and all at like 5-10x the going rate. and he's in Taiwan, so I'm not really sure if its to be trusted. I had a bad experience recently with some fake transistors i have a trans-tube peavey head (sounds pretty great actually) got some transistors fr...

Re: some tesla el34s (rare or not?)
so these were made in the 90s ???
if so why they so hard to find?

Re: some tesla el34s (rare or not?)
both the red and the blues are real 100% true OO getter tesla tubes. this post wasn't about the tubes themselves but how rare are the real ones, i mean what could i expect to pay for NOS ones like this?

some tesla el34s (rare or not?)
so i found these tubes on e-bay. they are just the el34s tesla made with double O getters with blue or red glass. the ones on e-bay are really expensive and are like 4 notches away from testing bad lol so not too interested in them. i heard that tesla made blue glass el34s and red glass el34s both h...

Re: tube rectifier
thanks for the suggestions guy i do really appreciate it. don't think i'm just blowing you off or being rude, thats not what i'm about. this is only like one of 12 amps i own and I just picked the 2204 because i have 2 2203 that i'll be leaving alone. nothing about the amp really matters in fact, it...

Re: tube rectifier
what i'm trying to do is change the JCM800 around a lil bit to combine the great sound of analog like my jtm45 and have the punch of the jcm 800. Changing the rectifier from silicon to tube doesn't make the amp sound analog, its always analog regardless of which device is used. That say to say it i...

Re: Hi all! new member
i will, being the first it should be a cool challenge but I'm pretty handy with a soldering iron and know how to work of electronics so i won't end up cooking myself or making a mess out of my soldering

Re: tube rectifier
okay i think i got it. I would use a sag resistor but wanted a more traditional tube rec. people say your ear can't tell the difference but what i'm trying to do is change the JCM800 around a lil bit to combine the great sound of analog like my jtm45 and have the punch of the jcm 800. please check a...
