Re: New tubes - Alessandro
Thanks for the information. I will probably order a pair of KT77's since it's about time to re-tube anyway. While I'm at it I will add a 12AT7 for possible use in v1 in addition to the compliment of 12ax7's.

Re: Need help with a part
Another question on this. I can find 22uF, non polarized, but not 75v. The ones I'm finding are 100v. Can I use these instead of 75v ?

Re: Anyone had problems with tung sol reissue 6L6GC?
I lost a pair of Tung Sol reissue EL34's. They started out nicely but developed a high level of mechanical noise. They were way out of balance when I checked them out. Replaced with reissue Mullards and all is well

Need help with a part
I don't know very much about electronics and need some help. I'm trying to replace a component in a speaker crossover. It is about 1.5 inches long, blue in color. Printed on it is Mallory 22mf 75 VNP. It also has 00517-1080187 and 235-8129E. Can anybody tell me what this is, where I could get it, an...

Another Radio Interference Thread
My Alessandro Doberman has Radio Interference - both local and on stage. I use a pedal board with multiple effects. Doesn't happen when not plugged in. Whats puzzling is that I also have a Silverface Twin and this never happens to this amp. I also have a Marshall 2104 which does pick up RF but to a ...

Blackfacing and Silverface Twin
1971 (maybe 1972) Silverface Twin Reverb - 100W, master volume - not push pull pot. What is involved with "Blackfacing" this amp? Can it be done and still retain the master volume pot and circuit? Any ideas/thoughts would be great here. __________________ American Strat HSS, Gibson L6S 1973, Strat 1...

Re: EL34's
I ordered a matched pair of reissue Mullard (new sensor) EL34's yesterday. We'll see how these work out.
Thank you all for your opinions - lots of great ideas!

Re: EL34's
I prefer the JJ E34Ls, which is not exactly the same, but even more robust, and a little tighter bass compared to the regular EL34s, IMO. If I could afford them I'd buy the Winged C's, but I just can't justify the price. You said you sent some back. Why? They developed a bit of mechanical noise -pa...

Are there amp issues that are negatively affecting tube life? I wouldn't call vibrations inherent to being in a combo as notoriously deleterious.

EL34
The amp is a combo (Alessandro Working Dog Doberman) so its subject to a good deal of vibration. It came with the Mullard reissues as orignal equip. I sent back a pair of SED "Winged C" and pretty much destroyed one of the pair of Tung Sol reissues. How are the JJ's on the high end? Any other though...
